Ode to my husband

...on November 21st I left the US, childless, to spend the next 12 days with Nick sorting and sifting through our home getting ready to pack out for our next assignment. While we missed our girls dearly, it was way over due for time together just the two of us. It was so nice to come and go without 14 excess bags......SLEEP all night without waking to crying or holding on to the last stitch in the mattress cause it was stuffed with kids and adults.....putting things away without them only to be pulled back out the minute you turn your back...

We love our girls...wouldn't go back to the way things were before BUT it is true what they say about taking time for your marriage..I agree..and am thankful that my in-laws agreed to take the girls for this time.

"All the things you are to me Darling you have set me free I'll always give you what you need and what you deserve All the joy and all this love I know that it is from above and now together there is enough to fill this world Cause you are the love of my life you are the love of my life and now we are man and wife....." Michelle Featherstone

So...if you can manage to get away from the kids at any point...I highly recommend it!

Here they are....

our Sweet Girls! Both girls did really well for photos, considering that the studio was 45 minutes behind with our appointment time.

Happy First Birthday! Her outfit was made by my friend Alexa at www.jjandme.etsy.com

She would not take the photo without the cats. They had better become some sort of occupation for her later in life.

They really are this happy together. Will it last?
Some of you out there are aware that Addisyn had an MRI this week on a spot on her lower back. We are blessed that the results are normal. She has a little extra fatty tissue (don't we all). It should resolve as she gets old and should cause no problems for her.
The holidays are HERE!

Little Cook.....

The weeks are going by pretty fast here for us. We have been busy getting ready for the holidays. The girls are keeping us entertained and having a great time playing with all their cousins. Addisyn has fell in love with the kitchen. You can't keep that girl out of the cabinets. Her favorite toys these days are bowls. She actually can't keep herself out of them

So, maybe we have a future cook on our hands.
I am taking the girls tomorrow for their Christmas photos. Pray that they cooperate for the entire sitting. Addisyn is also getting her 1st Birthday photos. I am a little late but wanted to do it all together.
I went today for an interview for a temporary job. Not nursing but at The Children's Place. (Yeah, I know crazy) I will definitely let everyone know how this works out.
I am hoping to go back to Turkey this weekend to help Nick pack out our things. I hate to fly but this will be my last flight over. It will be nice to spend a little time together without the girls. However, WE both will miss them dearly.

Travels of a tired Momma

The girls and I have been burning the roads it seems since we have been back. We have managed to stay between Lake, MS and Birmingham almost every week. This past weekend the girls and I traveled to Shaw AFB in Sumter, South Carolina to visit with our dear friends, Jeneice Brian and Marcus, though Brian was TDY to Vegas. It had been about 2 years since the kids (Mackenzie and Marcus) had been together but it didn't take them long to pick it where they left off. Addisyn fit right in doing her own thing and gettin' into cabinets. Jeneice and I had a nice time too catching up on all the happenings. We will be about 200 miles from them when we move to Macon so that will be nice and hopefully we can all hang out more often.

Our Next home.....

We are so happy that Nick got orders to Robins Air Force Base near Macon Georgia. We are thankful that we are somewhat close to family (but not too close ;) ) and will be near to our friends at Shaw and those at Charleston. We can't wait to get there and get settled. We have already begun the house hunting and job search (for me). Mackenzie will be starting school next fall so we will definitely have that in mind when we look for homes.

A little late.....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! The girls had a great time this year Trick or Treating with Hannah and Kaitlyn.

Proud American

Today was election day. I did my duty as a citizen and cast my vote at the polls for the first time (I have always had to submit an absentee ballot). While my party did not win, I couldn't be more proud to be an American!

It's Official......

on Friday we found out we will be moving our "home" to Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins Georgia. We are soooo excited and can't wait to see what is in store for us there! Check back for Halloween photos. I have been so busy on the road back and forth to Mississippi and surfing the net for info on Georgia that I haven't taken the time to add them...;)

Addisyn's First Birthday.....

Today is Addisyn's 1st Birthday. I can't believe how fast the last year has gone by. It seems like just yesterday that we were in Germany waiting for her to be born. She has been some places all around the world even before she was born. We had a great little party on Saturday with mainly family....minus Nick :( but he joined us on Webcam (so thankful for that technology). She really enjoyed the day as well as those that attended. Happy Birthday our Sweet Little RedHead!

Then......

Now....Sweet Birthday Kisses

Occupying my time.....

The girls and I are enjoying our time visiting with family and friends. Back when we first moved to Turkey, I fell in love with yarn and knitting. So these days I have been spending my time trying to work on a few scarves and sell some excess yarn on Ebay. Who would turn down the opportunity to earn a few extra dollars. :) So if any of you are interested...check my listings out. I am listed as Yarns-N-More.

To Gran's House we go

Whew! What at trip! Never thought we would make it but we did. We found out early last week that the plane from Incirlik to Baltimore would be delayed 48 hours for some reason. Ok GREAT! Instead of leaving on Friday we got everything ready to go Sunday Morning. Get to the terminal...check-in...go through Passport Control...BOARD the Plane and sit...only to find out that we would have to de-board due to some electrical issue. Turns out we sit in the terminal for another 5 hours just to get to go back home for the night...Whohoo...That's Turkey ;)

We did FINALLY leave and the trip was not as bad as I had expected. The girls did REALLY well considering the length of the flight. Mackenzie didn't sleep but about 2 hours the whole flight. Addisyn slept on and off...no thanks to the 2 year old who Screamed...not cried for the greater part of the entire flight. We stayed in Baltimore Monday night so we could get a fresh start Tuesday morning. The Southwest portion of the trip was the best...2 hour flight...Addisyn slept 1 hour 45 minutes...Mackenzie played. Thank goodness the girls are in the US to stay for a long while. I don't care to chance a bad trip as a single parent.

The girls soaking in the morning sun at the airport (never mind Mackenzie's horrible pointing)

Fall has fell........

......here in Turkey after a VERY VERY Hot summer. The kids and I can actually get out now during the daytime and play. I was thinking back to this time last year and our (Nick, Lesley, Mackenzie, and Gran) trip to Paris while waiting on the arrival of Miss Addisyn. It was so beautiful there! Much different than the places we had experienced in Turkey. I can remember when we got off the bus how COLD it was though. We didn't get to go up into the Eiffel Tower but we got some great photos and have a great time nonetheless...It was a LONG day for a 38 week pregnant woman :)

Our Girls.....

Mackenzie Leigh...one lazy morning....sporting her awesome quilt made by Tim's mom, Dawn. It fits her perfect with all the bright colors and of COURSE all the animals that she LOVES in that one block!

Addisyn Nichol...11 months in this picture..is currently working on her top two teeth. One just barely came open yesterday....ahhhhh...uninterrupted sleep for atleast a few nights...hehe

In the beginning....

Wow...I have contemplated starting this now for awhile but my list of reasons just got too long. I should have started prior to our PCS (Permanent Change of Station) to Incirlik AB in Adana Turkey. Living here in Turkey has been an experience and I hope over the next few weeks to somewhat recreate our time here. Many of you out there barely have internet much less MySpace. So I thought as we transition into our next move now is the perfect time to BEGIN so you can keep up better with us 4 Evans'.....

The girls are growing fast everyday. Addisyn will be "1" in less than 3 weeks and we can hardly believe it. Mackenzie is her normal imaginative self. She will be 5 in February and has grown so much since we arrived here in March 06.

Please feel free to visit often...you never know what you might learn ;).................
